1. Agreement to terms
Welcome to Expense Tracker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. Description of the service
Expense Tracker is a personal expense-tracking app that lets you:
- Log expenses and income manually or via receipt scanning.
- Set budgets, savings goals, and debt records.
- Categorize transactions and generate reports.
- Share expenses with household members.
- Receive reminders and periodic summaries.
We may add new features or modify existing ones at any time.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you're below the legal age of consent in your country for digital agreements, you must have your guardian's permission.
4. Account and security
When you create an account:
- You must provide accurate, current information.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Accounts cannot be shared between people. We're not liable for losses caused by your failure to protect your credentials.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the app:
- For any illegal purpose, fraud, or money laundering.
- To impersonate any other person.
- To attempt to hack the service, cause it to fail, or exceed usage limits.
- To upload harmful content, content that infringes copyright, or offensive material.
- To collect other users' data without their consent.
- For mass-sending via the support form.
6. Not financial advice
Expense Tracker is an organizational tool only. We are not financial advisors, accountants, or legal counsel. The statistics and recommendations shown in the app are based on the data you enter and are for informational purposes only.
Don't use the app as a substitute for professional advice. Financial decisions you make based on information in the app are entirely your responsibility.
7. Fees
The service is currently free. We may offer paid features in the future, and we'll notify you in advance before enabling them. We will never charge you for existing usage without your explicit consent.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its design, and its content (except for your own data) are our property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of them without written permission.
Your data remains yours. You only grant us the limited license needed to operate the service (like storage and display).
9. Third-party integrations
The app uses third-party services (Google, OCR.space, etc). When you use these features, you're also subject to those services' terms. We are not responsible for any downtime or errors in those services.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from settings. After a 30-day grace period, all your data is permanently erased.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, notifying you by email where possible.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free.
Calculations in the app may be incorrect due to bad input data or software bugs. Always verify numbers before making financial decisions.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including (but not limited to) loss of profits, data, or reputation.
Our total liability to you, whatever the cause, will not exceed any amounts you've paid us in the previous 12 months (currently zero, since the service is free).
13. Changes to the terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of any material change at least 30 days before it takes effect. Your continued use of the app after that constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are interpreted according to the laws of the country where the operator is based. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts there, unless local law requires otherwise.
